Build your bottom line from the carpet up by using DuPont™ Advanced Teflon® — increase your profits by 50% in a single sale!

Teflon® Advanced is a new, improved carpet protector that provides superior repellency and outstanding soil protection for all types of residential carpet. Teflon® helps carpets stay cleaner, brighter, newer and fresher through all kinds of daily wear! Creates a unique invisible shield around carpet fibers.

Teflon® Advanced carpet protector provides more repellency than other leading carpet protectors, along with outstanding soil protection. This means your customers can be assured of cleaner carpets longer, and that means more satisfied customers for you.

The improved, advanced repellency of Teflon® Advanced carpet protector provides extra time to clean up spills, minimizes wicking and the spreading of stains. Teflon® Advanced is more resistant to oil-based and water-based stains than ever, thanks to its higher repellency. And it creates a unique invisible shield around carpet fibers, keeping dirt from sticking to fibers.

Dirt and stains cling to untreated carpet and quickly become embedded in the fibers. Teflon® Advanced creates a powerful invisible shield around the carpet’s fibers to keep dirt from lodging within the carpet. The same technology that keeps foods from sticking to pots and pans prevents dirt and grime from sticking to the carpet.

For the consumer, keeping her carpet looking like new is now easier than ever. A professional cleaning will brighten and freshen her carpet, but every time someone walks into her house, they track in dirt. Once dirt gets into her carpet, it gets ground in deeper with every step. Now add the effects of spills, stains and crumbs that get trapped in her carpet. That’s why she needs to protect her freshly cleaned carpet with Teflon® Advanced carpet protector.

DuPont recommends the application of Teflon® Advanced after each cleaning on all carpet types, even those with built-in soil and stain protection. Reinforces stain-blocking qualities of stain-resist nylon fibers.

For added protection and increased peace of mind, Teflon® Advanced carpet protector is CFC- and solvent-free. It leaves no unpleasant odor.

Does Cleaning Remove the Teflon® Protector?
Some Teflon® Advanced carpet protector is removed from the fiber from heavy traffic or aggressive cleaning. Some product may also be removed by strong cleaning agents and chemicals. Check with your supplier to determine which cleaning agents you may need to avoid. It is generally recommended to re-apply Teflon® Advanced each time the carpet is cleaned.

What is the difference between the mill applied and after market products?
The mill applied products are formulated for drying in the high temperature ovens found in carpet mills, while the home applied products are formulated to dry at ambient temperatures. Because the mill applied products are “baked on”, they are typically more durable, depending upon the product. However, Teflon® Advanced has good durability and provides valuable protection against soil and stains.

How often should protectors be applied?
Since the biggest enemy of the protectors is abrasion from traffic, and traffic varies with each situation, the general recommendation for re-application is after each cleaning. The same conditions that led to the need for cleaning probably have led to the need to refresh the carpet protection.

How are carpet warranties affected?
Carpet mills recommend reapplication of Protector to maintain their warranties. Shaw Industries' R2X™ brand carpet warranty is voided is by "treatment after installation by any product other than DuPont Teflon® or 3M's Scotchgard™...".
DuPont™ recommends the application of Teflon® Advanced after each cleaning on all carpet types, even those with built-in soil and stain protection. Reinforces stain-blocking qualities of stain-resist nylon fibers, such as Stainmaster®.

Why apply Teflon® Advanced?
First, because DuPont™ Teflon® Advanced Carpet Protector provides a valuable service for your customers - it keeps the carpet looking good longer. From a business perspective, Teflon® Advanced will improve customer satisfaction increase profitability on the job. Two very important reasons!

Can Teflon® Advanced be applied to upholstery?
Yes, Teflon® Advanced also works on upholstery that is not subject to water damage as is silk and other more exotic fabrics. Teflon® Advanced is suitable to protect upholstery made from most cotton, nylon, polyester, and blends of these fibers. But if water damage is a possibility or a concern, do not apply the product.

Will Teflon® Advanced work on Olefin (polypropylene) fibers?
Yes, tests prove that the new Teflon® Advanced even works on olefin!

Stains won’t stick to Teflon® Advanced

Teflon® Advanced delivers its protection by forming a molecular shield around each carpet fiber. The shield lowers the surface energy of the carpet fibers causing them to repel liquid spills and dust and dirt. This helps prevent dirt and stains from being ground into or absorbed by the fibers.

Undetectable by sight, smell or touch, Teflon® protects all kinds of carpets. The repellent characteristic of Teflon® keeps dirt from sticking to the fibers, making carpets easier to care for. This helps carpets look cleaner and fresher longer.

On carpet treated with Teflon® , the wine beads up, and can be blotted up without a trace.
The wine soaks into untreated carpet and makes a spot that’s hard to get out.

Directions:
Teflon® is simply diluted in water (4 parts water to 1 part concentrate) and sprayed onto freshly cleaned damp carpet at 40 psi. Apply with an 8004 Tee jet nozzle at the rate of 200 square feet per gallon of diluted product. A stainless steel sprayer with a special fan-shaped nozzle attachment (#8004 nozzle) is recommended as the applicator. However, the electric powered Multi-Sprayer® or the Spray 1® is much easier and faster to use.

It is recommended that you allow 50% overlap and brush or rake the carpet after treatment of the carpet with Teflon®. The carpet will feel stiff for a few days after the treatment. Wipe off any spray on furniture, baseboards, etc., while wet.

Allow 4 days for maximum protection. Always rake in after application for even coverage.

To prevent accumulation of dried Teflon® in spray equipment, clean with fresh water after each use.

Use Concentration: Dilute Teflon® Advanced by mixing 1 part Teflon® Advanced with 4 parts water to damp or freshly cleaned carpet or 1 to 8 with water for dry carpet. However, if sprayed onto a dry carpet, it must be absolutely clean or you lock in soil.

Coverage: 1 gallon diluted Teflon® Advanced per 200 square feet.

Use pH: 5.5 - 6.5
